Cemetery Transcription Project

The Society is currently in the process of compiling an inventory of all known cemeteries in the county. This inventory will include both a written transcription and photographic record of headstones as well as GPS coordinates for the cemeteries. This project is being coordinated by Joyce Clerico.

A number of cemetery transcriptions have been placed on this site and can be viewed on the Cemetery Transcription Project pages. Copies of digital images of the grave markers and associated transcriptions can be obtained upon request. A link to the request form is located on the transcription pages. There is no fee for requests that can be fulfilled via electronic mail but donations to the Charles County Md. Genealogical Society are appreciated. For requests that require copying the images to some type of media and forwarding by mail, we will require a modest fee to cover our costs. These fees will be determined on a case by case basis. All requests will be processed a soon as practically possible. Please be patient as we are an all volunteer organization.
